Replacing the air cleaner filter element — diesel models produced before 09.2000 (Opel Astra G)

The air cleaner is installed in the front right corner of the engine compartment (see illustrations at the beginning of the Chapter).

1. Release the retainers and lift the air cleaner cover. On 2.0-liter engines, be careful not to damage the electrical wiring connected to the intake air flow and temperature sensors (MAF and IAT).



2. Remove the filter element.



3. Wipe the air cleaner housing and cover. Install a new filter element (rubber flange up) and secure the lid with the clamps.
