Lock cylinder
Removing
1. Remove the steering wheel as described in Chapter 21.
2. Loosen and remove the screws, then separate the upper and lower casings from the steering column.
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring and remove the immobilizer receiver from the lock cylinder casing (see illustration).
4. Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder and turn it to position I.
5. Press the hidden locking button with a suitable tool and remove the lock cylinder from the casing along with the key (see illustrations).
Installation
6. Before inserting the cylinder into the casing, make sure that the steering column lock bolt is not engaged with the latch of the locking button, otherwise it will not be possible to insert the cylinder completely. If necessary, insert a flathead screwdriver into the housing and push the latch down to clear the bolt (see illustration).
7. Push the lock cylinder into the casing until it stops.
8. Where necessary, set the immobilizer receiver to the working position and connect the electrical wiring.
9. Install the steering column covers and tighten the screws securely.
10. Install the negative cable on the battery.
Ignition lock contact block
Removing
11. Remove the lock cylinder as described in the previous subchapter.
12. Disconnect the multi-way connector from the back of the switch terminal block. To release the connector, press the locking tab on the connector using a thin flat head screwdriver (see illustration). Gently pry the connector away from the contact block with a screwdriver, being careful not to damage the terminals.
13. Press the lock button using a suitable tool and remove the contact block from the back of the lock cylinder housing (see illustrations).
Installation
14. Install in reverse order.
