Using a socket wrench, loosen the oil pump mounting bolts and remove it.
Disassemble the oil pump and the pump pressure relief valve and wash all parts in gasoline.
Check the degree of wear of parts, replace worn parts.
Wipe both gears dry and install them into the pump body.
Using a feeler gauge, check the gap between the gear teeth, which should be within 0.10-0.20 mm.
Using a feeler gauge and a straight edge, check the gap between the ends of the gears and the plane of the pump body, which should be within 0.04-0.10 mm.
Replace the pump cover if it shows obvious signs of wear.
Generously lubricate the gears with engine oil and install them in place at the same time as the pump cover, installing a new gasket.
Install the oil pump on the cylinder block.
Install the engine oil pan.
