Replacing the coolant (Opel Kadett E)

Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the water pump and the outlet hose from the thermostat housing. Use a 9mm square-head wrench to loosen the drain plug on the cylinder block behind the alternator and drain the coolant.

Tighten the drain plug.

Disconnect the coolant outlet hose to the heater from the cylinder head.

Fill the system with coolant through the expansion tank until liquid appears from the opening for the liquid drain hose to the heater.

Connect the heater supply hose.

Add fluid to the expansion tank to a level 1 cm above the "KALT" ("Cold") mark.
