Removal and installation the carburetor cover (Opel Kadett D)

The cover can be removed without removing the carburetor from the engine.

Removal

Remove the air filter.

Disconnect the starter cable.

Mark and remove the fuel lines.

Remove the vacuum hose for the vacuum regulator.

Attention! Do not remove the hose from the vacuum regulator.

Remove the four Phillips screws from the carburetor cover.

Unscrew the two nuts and remove the carburetor cover.

Installation

Install a new cover gasket.

Install the cover and screw it on loosely with two nuts and washers.

Tighten 4 Phillips screws by hand.

Tighten the nuts and screws completely.

Attach the vacuum hose.

Put on the fuel lines.

Attach and adjust the starter cable.

Check and set the starting valve clearance.

Install the air filter.
