Checking and adjusting the injection quantity (Opel Kadett D)

The injection quantity is always checked when the engine loses throttle response or consumes a large amount of fuel.

Run the engine briefly to fill the float chamber with fuel.

Remove the carburetor.

Prepare a container for draining fuel from the carburetor and a measuring container.

Press 10 times but the throttle valve opening growls at intervals of 3 seconds.

Divide the amount of fuel collected by 10 and compare with the data see paragraph 4.49.



Loosen screw "a" and, by turning washer "b", adjust the injection quantity "-" - less injection, "+" - more injection.

If the injection quantity cannot be adjusted, check the pump pistons and seals, the patency of the injection tube, and the shut-off valve.

Note: The injection direction is not adjustable.

After adjustment, fill the adjusting nut with varnish.
