Fuel Tank Vent Valve — Replacement (Opel Astra F)

Single point injection Multec



The valve is located under the water deflector on the engine compartment bulkhead.

When removing the valve, lift the water deflector to gain access to the valve, then disconnect the three hoses, noting their location for later installation, and remove the valve from the bulkhead, releasing the clamp if necessary.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.


Multec multi-point injection



The procedure for carrying out the work is the same as indicated in the previous subsection for models with single-point fuel injection.

Fuel injection system Motronic M1.5.2



The valve is located on a bracket on the rear side of the cylinder head.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the fuel tank vent valve plug.

Disconnect the two hoses from the valve, noting their location for later installation.

Release the valve from the bracket and remove it.

Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Fuel injection system Motronic M2.5



The fuel tank vent valve is located on the rear left side of the engine (fig. 4.125).

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.



Disconnect the valve plug.

Disconnect the two hoses from the valve, noting their location.

Remove the screw and valve from the bracket.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
