Center console — removal and installation (Opel Vectra B)

Location of gear shift lever protective boot mounting screws (1) and center console mounting screw (2)

Removal

1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.



2. Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the decorative trim in front of the handbrake lever.



3. Loosen and remove the handbrake protective boot.



4. Unscrew the screws and remove the handbrake lever protective cover.

5. Using a thin screwdriver, remove the center console mounting screw caps. Unscrew the screws. The screws are located one on each side at the front of the center console, two at the rear, and one in the center.

6. Move the center console away from the dash and use the lever to remove the lids on each side of the ashtray.

7. Remove the ashtray holder.

8. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the ashtray light and cigarette lighter.



9. Unscrew the central screw securing the center console.



10. Fully raise the handbrake lever and remove the center console.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
