Only place the vehicle on stands when unloaded. The goats must stand on a level and firm surface.
Install the jack stands under the car so that one of their side legs extends outward.
Places for installing a jack
The jack should be installed strictly under the notches on the skirt. Usually these recesses are covered with covers that must be removed (see arrow in illustration 4.0).
1. Place the jack so that the grip of its rod completely covers the skirt. The mobile support of the jack must be firmly on the ground (see illustration).
Attention! The car should only be jacked up when unloaded.
2. Rotate the jack handle until the corresponding wheel is raised.
3. Place jack stands under the raised vehicle.
If the wheels remain on the ground when the vehicle is raised, chock them to prevent the wheels from rolling forward or backward. Don't rely on the handbrake. It needs to be loosened for some jobs.
Attention! To avoid damage to the underbody, use appropriate rubber or wood pads when jacking up the vehicle, and use a jack or other lifting device in the specified locations. Do not lift the vehicle by the engine or transmission parts, or by the front or rear axles.
