Gear shift mechanism (Opel Omega B)

Check the operation of the gearshift lever. Adjust the shift mechanism if necessary.

Adjustment

1. Set the lever to the park position (P). Raise and support the front of the vehicle.



2. Locate the shift lever on the left side of the transmission and loosen the shift rod clamp bolt (indicated by the arrow). Move the transmission shift lever fully rearward to position (P) and tighten the clamp bolt.

3. Check the operation of the gear shift lever.

Removal

1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle.

2. Remove the retaining rings and disconnect the shift rod from the transmission and shift lever (indicated by the arrow). Remove the rod.

Installation

Lubricate the shift rod pivot pins with general purpose grease and install the rod, securing it with the retaining rings.
