Coupling discs — replacement (Opel Omega A)

1. Block the front wheels. Jack up the rear of the car and secure it on axle stands.

2. Apply the handbrake, then loosen only the slider clamp nut on the front of the driveshaft. Note that on models equipped with a catalytic converter, it is necessary to remove the small heat shield from the underbody of the vehicle to gain access to the nut.

3. Unscrew the cardan shaft flange(s) from the flexible coupling disk.

4. Unscrew the flexible connection from the differential gear and/or transmission flange.

5. Push the appropriate part of the cardan shaft towards the center bearing and remove the coupling disc. If necessary, use a lever to remove the cardan shaft from the drive flange.

6. Install the new flexible coupling disk in the reverse order of removal.
