Final Drive Rear Cover Gasket — Replacement (Opel Omega A)

1. Remove the damper suspension as described in Chapter 4.

2. Place a suitable container under the final drive mechanism, then unscrew and remove the cover. Remove the gasket and drain the oil.

3. Completely clean the mating surfaces of the cover and final drive mechanism.

4. Place the new gasket on the final drive mechanism.

5. Install the cover, then insert and tighten the bolts evenly to the specified tightening torque Specification. It is recommended to use new bolts.

6. Install the damper suspension as described in Chapter 4.

7. Place the vehicle on a level surface, unscrew the final drive filler plug and fill with the specified grade of oil until it reaches the bottom of the hole. Install and tighten the filler plug to the specified tightening torque Specification.

8. Lower the car to the ground.
