Technical support (Opel Omega A)

1. Perform the following procedures at the intervals given in Current maintenance at the beginning of this Guide.

2. Turn off the engine, remove the cap of the brake booster reservoir and check the level. There are two marks: when the engine is hot, the level should be at the upper mark, when the engine is cold - on the bottom.

3. Top up with the specified fluid if necessary, but if a leak is suspected, check the hoses and connections thoroughly.

4. Secure the front of the car on axle stands, then check the clearance in the ball joints of the steering rod and the lower ball joints of the suspension. Also check the rubber dust boots of the ball joint. Check how the steering rods move on the ball joints.

5. Replace ball joints if necessary.

6. Inspect the power steering pump drive belt for wear, damage and deterioration.

7. Check the drive belt tension.

8. Inspect the tire tread and tire for wear and damage. If the tire is abnormally worn, check the steering and suspension completely. Check and adjust the tire pressure.
