Technical characteristics of the lubrication system (Opel Kadett E)

            0

Contents: Oil pump ⬇ Oil filter ⬇ Motor oil ⬇
The engine has a pressure lubrication system created by a gear-type pump driven by the camshaft.

To remove crankcase gases and reduce the pressure in the internal cavity of the crankcase, the engine uses a closed-type forced crankcase ventilation system. When the engine is idling, crankcase gases are sucked out of the cavity of the cylinder head cover into the intake manifold, and in other engine operating modes, into the cavity after the air filter.

Oil pump

Gap between gear teeth, mm: 0.10-0.20.

Clearance between the ends of the gears and the housing plane, mm: 0.04-0.10.

Spring force of the oil pump pressure reducing valve, kgf: 1.60-1.90.

Oil pressure at idle speed at coolant temperature of 80°C and oil temperature of 60°C, kgf/cm²: 1.5.

Oil filter

Oil filter brand AC type SD with replaceable filter element.

Motor oil

Engine lubrication system capacity, l: 2.75 (including 0.25 l in the oil filter).
