Due to the design of the suspension, the shock absorbers can only be removed and installed in series.

Installation



Before installation, check the shock absorber, see item 12.4.

Check the rubber buffer, replace if necessary. Use new buffers with new shock absorbers.

Install the cup and rubber buffer on the shock absorber.

Note: Starting with chassis #2503715, a modified rear shock absorber mounting cup is used. Older vehicles (sedan only) if noise occurs in the area of the rear shock absorber, new cups should be used. The convex side of the cup should be on the shock absorber side. In addition, it is necessary to monitor the changed adjustable dimension -A-.

Use a suitable punch to secure the shock absorber in the holder and bracket in the correct position.

Lightly tap the mounting bolt with a polymer hammer until it touches the bracket. Tighten the bolt to 45 Nm.

For vehicles with adjustable ride height, tighten the pressure pipe and union nut to 3 Nm.

Install the shock absorber cup and rubber buffer.

Slowly lower the vehicle until the shock absorber enters the upper support.

Install the rubber buffer, cup and hex nut from the trunk.

Set with hex nut size A = 8 mm.

Please note: In vehicles starting with chassis No.2503715, installation dimension A = 9 mm.

Pump the system up to a pressure of 80 kPa (0.8 atm).

Place the protective cover on the shock absorber.
