Instrument cluster of the Opel Corsa
Seat belt
The indicator lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on (with warning sound signal) in cases where the seat belt is not fastened.
Fog lights
The indicator lights up when the fog lights are on.
Electronic equipment of the engine and gearbox, engine start interlock, diesel fuel filter
The indicator lights up for several seconds after the ignition is turned on.
Lighting up when the engine is running
Indicates a malfunction in the electronic system of the engine or gearbox.
The electronic system switches to emergency mode, which may increase fuel consumption and deteriorate the vehicle's performance. Seek assistance at a service station immediately.
Flashing when ignition is on
Indicates a malfunction in the engine start interlock system, making it impossible to start the engine.
Exhaust gases
The indicator lights up after the ignition is turned on. It goes out shortly after the engine is started.
Lighting up when the engine is running
Indicates a malfunction in the exhaust gas cleaning device. The permissible exhaust parameters may be exceeded. Immediately seek assistance from a service station.
Flashing when engine is running
Indicates a malfunction that may damage the catalytic converter. Seek immediate service at a service station.
Oil pressure
The indicator lights up after the ignition is turned on. It goes out shortly after the engine is started. It may light up briefly when the engine is idling, but should go out when the engine speed increases.
Lighting up when the engine is running
Indicates a possible loss of engine lubrication.
This may result in damage to it or blocking of the drive wheels.
In this case, depress the clutch, shift the gearbox to neutral, and on automatic and Easytronic transmissions, move the gearshift lever to position N. Move the car out of the moving traffic as quickly as possible without disturbing others, turn off the ignition (position I).
Note: When the ignition is off, significantly more effort is required for braking and steering.
Remove the key only after the vehicle has stopped, otherwise the steering wheel lock may be activated unexpectedly.
Contact a service station for assistance.
Direction indicators
The corresponding indicator flashes when the turn signal is on. Rapid flashing indicates that one of the turn signals is out of order. When the hazard warning lights are on, both indicators flash.
High beam
The indicator lights up when the high beam is on and when the corresponding light signal is working.
Warming up on a diesel engine
The indicator lights up while the engine is warming up.
The heating system is activated only at low outside temperatures.
Driving modes with electronically controlled automatic transmission
The indicator lights up when the sport driving mode is enabled.
Winter mode for automatic transmission and Easytronic gearbox
The indicator lights up when the winter operating mode is enabled.
Rear fog lights
The indicator lights up when the rear fog lights are on.
Power supply system
The indicator lights up after the ignition is turned on. It goes out shortly after the engine is started.
Lighting up when the engine is running
Indicates a possible lack of battery charge. It is also possible that the engine cooling system is not functioning properly. Contact a service station for assistance.
Brake system, clutch
The indicator lights up after the ignition is turned on if the parking brake is applied or the fluid level in the brake and clutch hydraulic system is too low.
Lighting when the parking brake is released: indicates a malfunction of the brake system. At this point, you must immediately stop the car and seek assistance at a service station.
On vehicles with Easytronic gearbox, if the parking brake is not applied after the ignition is switched off, the indicator flashes for a few seconds.
Engine oil level
Burning indicates that the engine oil level is too low. Check the engine oil level and top it up if necessary.
Electric power steering ESP
The indicator lights up for a few seconds after the ignition is turned on. If it lights up while driving, it indicates a malfunction. However, in this case, the train can continue. Steering will require a lot of effort. Contact a service station for assistance as soon as possible.
Trailer direction indicators
When used with a trailer, the indicator flashes at the same frequency as the direction indicators. It does not flash if one of the direction indicators on the trailer or on the towing vehicle fails.
Fuel level indicator in the tank
The indicator light indicates that the fuel supply is running low; the fuel supply indicator is in the reserve area.
Flashing indicator indicates that the fuel supply is used up and you need to refuel immediately.
Attention! It is strictly forbidden to drive until the tank is empty.
Caution! On gasoline engines, uneven fuel supply can lead to overheating of the catalytic converter.
Attention! On diesel engines, after the tank is completely empty, it is necessary to remove air from the fuel system.
Seat occupancy recognition system

The seat occupancy recognition system deactivates the front and side airbag systems of the front passenger if the front passenger seat is unoccupied or if an Opel child restraint system with transponders is installed on the front passenger seat. The head airbag system remains activated.
The seat occupied recognition indicator is located on the instrument panel. If the indicator lights up for approximately 4 seconds when the ignition is turned on, the vehicle is equipped with a seat occupied recognition system.
