Checking lamps and fuses (Opel Astra G)

1. If one of the headlights, a parking light, or a brake light does not light, the most likely cause is a burnt-out bulb. The procedure for replacing bulbs is described in Chapter 12. If both brake lights are not lit, the cause is a faulty switch (the removal procedure is discussed in Chapter 9).



2. If several indicator lights, headlights, side lights or tail lights do not light, the fuse has blown or the wiring is faulty. The location of the fuse boxes on the Zafira and Astra models is shown in Chapter 12.



3. To replace the fuse, open the cover and remove the fuse. Insert a new fuse rated for the same current as the one being replaced. First, find out the cause of the burnout and fix it.
