Comment. The execution sequence is absolutely similar for all electric fans. The only difference is the number of pins in the electric fan connector (three or four) on cars with an air conditioning system before and after 2000 of release.
Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. For the convenience of performing work, remove the electric fan (see «Electric fans of the cooling system - check and replace»).
3. With a multimeter in ohmmeter mode, we check the presence of resistance between the terminals of the fan connector: the terminal corresponding to brown (or brown/white for optional electric fan) wiring harness wire, and all other terminals. If there is a gap (multimeter shows infinite resistance) between any one pair of contacts, the additional resistor is faulty, it must be replaced.
4. To do this, use the TORX T15 key to unscrew the screw securing the additional resistor.
5. We unsolder the wires of the electric fan from the terminals of the additional resistor...
...and remove the resistor.
6. Install the parts in reverse order.
