1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Before starting work, check the integrity of fuse F41 (see "Fuse and relay mounting blocks"), if necessary, replace it. Turn on the ignition (turn the key in the ignition switch to position II) and check the operation of the mirror heating. If the fuse burns out again, there is a short circuit in the wiring that needs to be fixed (see "Checking and repairing electrical circuits").
3. Check the relay for turning on the electric mirror heating (see "Mounting Blocks - Replacing Fuses and Relays").
4. Remove the mirror element (see below).
5. Switch the multimeter to voltmeter mode, turn on the ignition. The voltage should be 11-14 V.
If there is no voltage, the electrical wiring is faulty (see "Checking and repairing electrical circuits"). If voltage is present, the heating element is faulty.
6. To make sure that the heating element is faulty, connect the multimeter in ohmmeter mode to the terminals of the mirror element and check the resistance. If the resistance is infinitely high (chain break), the heating element is faulty.
