To perform the work, you will need a multimeter, a wire with a cross section of about 2.5 mm2, 5 A fuse.
Comment. If during the test it is necessary to get to the rear-view mirror connector, then on the Astra model it is enough to remove the internal decorative mirror trim, and on the Zafira model it is necessary to remove the door trim (see below).
Electric drive does not work in all directions on both mirrors
1. Check fuse F15 (see «Fuse and relay mounting blocks»). If necessary, replace it. Turn on the ignition (turn the key in the ignition switch to position II) and check the operation of the electric mirrors. If the fuse blows again, there is a short circuit in the wiring that should be repaired (see «Checking and repairing electrical circuits»), or a short circuit in one of the mirror motors (see below).
2. Check the power mirror control unit (see «Power mirror control unit - check and replace»).
3. We check the electrical circuit to the power mirror control unit (see «Checking and repairing electrical circuits»).
The electric drive does not work in all or in any one direction on one of the mirrors
1. Check the power mirror control unit (see «Power mirror control unit - check and replace»).
2. We check the electrical circuit of the electric drive from the control unit to the non-functioning rear-view mirror (see «Checking and repairing electrical circuits»).
Warning! During the following operation, connect the terminals of the rear-view mirror connector to the battery for no more than 1-2 seconds. This time is enough to carry out the check. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the drive.
3. We connect one of the conclusions with pieces of wire (1 and 3 if the up-down adjustment does not work, or 2 and 3 if the left-right adjustment does not work) rear view mirror connector «weight», and the second with a positive terminal of the battery.

A 5 A fuse must be inserted into the piece of wire connecting the terminal of the connector to the positive terminal of the battery (see «Checking and repairing electrical circuits»). Then reverse the polarity of connecting the wires to the terminals of the connector. A working electric drive will rotate the mirror element (depending on the polarity of the wire connection), if not, the mirror needs to be replaced (see below). If the fuse blows, it means that there is a short circuit in the electric drive, the fuse must also be replaced (see below).
