Depending on the nature of the malfunction of the electric drive of the side mirrors, the sequence of checking and the range of elements to be checked differ. Therefore, the sequence of troubleshooting is given for three typical cases of malfunctions, from which you choose your case.
To perform the work you will need a multimeter, a wire with a cross-section of about 2.5 mm², and a 5 A fuse.
Note: If you need to access the rear view mirror connector during the inspection, on the Astra model you only need to remove the inner decorative trim of the mirror, and on the Zafira model you need to remove the door trim (see below).
Electric drive does not work in all directions on both mirrors
1. Check fuse F15 (see "Fuse and relay mounting blocks"). If necessary, replace it. Turn on the ignition (turn the key in the ignition switch to position II) and check the operation of the electric mirror drive. If the fuse burns out again, there is a short circuit in the wiring, which must be eliminated (see "Checking and repairing electrical circuits"), or a short circuit in one of the electric mirror motors (see below).
2. Check the electric mirror control unit (see "Electric Mirror Control Unit - Checking and Replacing").
3. Check the electrical circuit to the electric mirror control unit (see "Checking and repairing electrical circuits").
The electric drive does not work in all or one direction on one of the mirrors
1. Check the electric mirror control unit (see "Electric Mirror Control Unit - Checking and Replacing").
2. Check the electrical circuit of the electric drive from the control unit to the non-functioning rear-view mirror (see "Checking and repairing electrical circuits").
Warning! When performing the following operation, connect the rearview mirror connector terminals to the battery for no more than 1-2 seconds. This time is enough to perform the check. Otherwise, there is a risk of damaging the electric drive.

3. Using wire segments, connect one of the terminals (1 and 3 if the up-down adjustment does not work, or 2 and 3 if the left-right adjustment does not work) rear view mirror connector with ground, and the second with the positive terminal of the battery.

A 5 A fuse must be inserted into the section of wire that connects the connector terminal to the positive terminal of the battery (see "Checking and repairing electrical circuits"). Then change the polarity of the wires connected to the connector terminals. A working electric drive will rotate the mirror element (depending on the polarity of the wire connections), if not, the mirror must be replaced (see below). If the fuse burns out, it means there is a short circuit in the electric drive, the fuse must also be replaced (see below).

We check the control unit of the electric mirror drive (see "Electric Mirror Control Unit - Checking and Replacing").
