2. Disconnect plug 3 from the camshaft position sensor (see illustration).

3. Disconnect the connectors 1 from the fuel injectors (see illustration 15.2).
4. Connect a compression tester with a pressure measuring range of 10-40 bar with a corresponding adapter 2 to the glow plug socket (see illustration 15.2).
Caution: Do not allow oil or grease to enter the spark plug holes when checking compression.
5. Turn on the starter for about four seconds, turning the engine at a speed of at least 300 rpm and read the compression gauge. The pressure in the cylinders should not differ by more than 1 bar.
6. Disconnect the compression tester with the adapter, screw in the glow plugs, and reconnect the removed parts.
