Removal



1. Remove the intake manifold.

2. Remove the spark plug caps and disconnect the high tension wires.

3. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.

4. Remove the cover and gaskets. Replace the gaskets if necessary.

Left cover



5. For better access, remove the windshield wiper arms and disconnect the engine wiring harness from the cover.

6. On models equipped with air conditioning, unscrew the air conditioning pipe bracket located at the front of the cylinder head and slide the pipe to the side.

7. Bend the holder back (indicated by the arrow) oil filler neck.

8. Turn the neck counterclockwise to remove it from the lid.

9. Unscrew the bolts and remove the cover.

1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head. Install new gaskets.

2. Install new O-rings.

3. Apply sealant N15 03 295 to the head surface around the front bearing caps (indicated by arrows) camshafts.

4. Apply sealant to the semi-circular cutouts (indicated by arrows) at the back of the head.



5. Install the cover, insert and tighten the bolts. Install the remaining parts.

6. The left cover is installed in the same way as the right one.
