Starter Solenoid Relay — Removal and Installation (Starter Removal) (Opel Omega A)

1. On the front side of the traction relay, unscrew the lock nut and gasket and pull the electrical supply wire out of the clamp on the post (photo).



2. Remove the two or three screws that secure the solenoid to the starter drive housing (photo).



3. Remove the traction relay switch housing, spring and anchor; disconnect the anchor from the gear drive (photo).







4. In most cases, a faulty traction relay is easier to replace.

5. After repair, assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
