Replacing the brake pressure regulator on station wagons (Opel Kadett E)

Removal

Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and replace it with a sealed cap.

Loosen the bolts securing the return spring bracket and move the bracket toward the rear of the vehicle.

Disconnect the return spring.

Disconnect the brake lines from the pressure regulator, having marked their position beforehand, since they have different nipple nuts, and plug the lines with plugs.

Remove the pressure regulator and unscrew the protective nut.

Installation

Screw the protective nut onto the new pressure regulator and install the regulator on the vehicle.

Connect the brake lines to the pressure regulator.

Connect the spring to the adjuster and to the bracket on the rear axle.

Move the regulator lever all the way toward the front of the vehicle.

Move the bracket so that the spring is in contact without gap with the bracket on the rear axle and the pressure regulator lever.

Bolt the bracket to the rear axle.

Replace the sealed cap of the brake fluid reservoir with a standard cap.

Bleed the brake hydraulic system and make sure the connections are tight.

Check the functionality of the pressure regulator.
