Replacing the brake caliper bracket (Opel Insignia A)

Caution: Support the brake caliper with a strong wire or something similar to prevent the weight of the caliper from placing pressure on the brake hose, which may damage the brake hose and cause brake fluid leaks.


1. Raise and secure the vehicle.

2. Remove the front wheel from the vehicle.

3. Loosen the brake caliper mounting bolts and hang it on a strong wire without disconnecting it from the brake hose.

4. Loosen the two bolts (1) securing the caliper bracket to the steering knuckle.

Note.
  • Replace the caliper bracket mounting bolts with new ones after each removal.
  • Tightening torque: 150 Nm + 45° + 15°.

5. Remove the caliper bracket (2).

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
