Replacing the remaining system components (Opel Insignia A)

            0

1. Deactivate the additional passive safety system.

2. Replace the required component, referring to the illustrations below.

Front passenger front airbag:

Front passenger front airbag:
1. Mounting bolts (tightening torque 8 Nm).
2. Front passenger front airbag module.


Note: To replace the front passenger airbag, you must first remove the instrument panel.


Side airbags:

Side airbags:
1. Fastening nuts (tightening torque 3.75 Nm).
2. Side airbag module.


Note: To replace the side airbag, remove the rear seatback trim.


Air curtains:

Air curtains:
1. Curtain airbag module holder.
2. Bolts for securing the airbag module (tightening torque 9.5 Nm).


Note: To replace the curtain airbag, you must first remove the headliner.




Seat belt holder pretensioners:

Seat belt holder pretensioners:
1. Fastening bolt (tightening torque 45 Nm).
2. Front seat belt pretensioner.


Seat belt retractor pretensioners:

Seat belt retractor pretensioners:
1. Side guide fastener (tightening torque 45 Nm).
2. Side seat belt guide holder.
3. Fastening element of the seat belt retractor mechanism (tightening torque 45 Nm).
4. Pretensioner bolt cover.
5. Pretensioner mounting bolt (tightening torque 5 Nm).
6. Seat belt pretensioner cover.
7. Seat belt retractor mechanism.


Note: To remove the retractor pretensioner, you must first remove the center pillar trim.


1. Front impact sensor lock.

2. Front impact sensor.


Side Impact Sensor:

Side Impact Sensor:
1. Sensor mounting bolt (tightening torque 7.5 Nm).
2. Side impact sensor.


Note: To remove the side impact sensor, you must first remove the front and rear door sill trims.




Additional passive safety system control unit:

Additional passive safety system control unit:
1. Control unit mounting bolts (tightening torque 22 Nm).
2. Instrument panel cross member.
3. Control unit mounting nuts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
4. Control unit for additional passive safety system.


Note: After replacement, it is necessary to reprogram the control unit of the additional passive safety system using diagnostic equipment.


3. Activate the additional passive safety system.

4. Perform the disposal procedure, activating the removed airbag if necessary.
