1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the gearbox (see «Gearbox - removal and installation»).
3. We check the ease of rotation and the absence of play in the release bearing, as well as the absence of traces of leakage of brake fluid from the clutch slave cylinder. If these faults are found, the clutch slave cylinder must be replaced (see «Clutch release slave cylinder - check and replace»). The presence of traces of oil leakage along the input shaft of the gearbox indicates a malfunction of the oil seal of the input shaft of the gearbox (see «Transmission input shaft oil seal - replacement»), oil leaks between the clutch slave cylinder and the gearbox housing - about a malfunction of the sealing ring of the clutch slave cylinder housing (see below).
4. To replace the slave cylinder for disengaging the clutch with a special key for fittings of the brake system by 10 mm, unscrew the fitting of the tube of the working cylinder.
Warning! If the tube begins to rotate with the fitting, it must be replaced.
5. If it is necessary to replace the tube with pliers with narrow jaws, we compress the clamps of the plastic sleeve.
6. Holding the latches in a compressed state, push the sleeve up with a slotted screwdriver.
7. Holding the plastic sleeve in the upper position with two slotted screwdrivers, push the tube down.
8. Remove the tube of the clutch slave cylinder.
9. With a 5 mm hex wrench, unscrew the three bolts securing the clutch slave cylinder.
10. Remove the clutch slave cylinder by sliding it along the input shaft shank.
Recommendation. When replacing the clutch release cylinder, be sure to replace the O-ring.
11. Install the parts in reverse order.
Recommendation. Apply anaerobic threadlocker to the slave cylinder bolts.
12. After assembly, we pump the hydraulic clutch release (see «Clutch Release Hydraulic - Bleeding»).
