Removal



Removal


1. Remove the catalytic converter heat shields.

1. Remove the catalytic converter heat shields.


2. Unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows), securing the driveshaft to the gearbox flange.

2. Unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows), securing the driveshaft to the gearbox flange.


3. Unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows), securing the driveshaft to the differential flange.



3. Unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows), securing the driveshaft to the differential flange.


3. Loosen the intermediate support mounting bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the driveshaft.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Central bearing of the propeller shaft



Replacement



1. Remove the driveshaft.

2. Mark the location of the driveshaft sections and remove the front section.

2. Mark the location of the driveshaft sections and remove the front section.


3. Remove the boot, retaining ring and washer.

4. Remove the bearing housing from the mounting bracket.

5. Press out the old bearing and press in the new one.

5. Press out the old bearing and press in the new one.


6. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order. A guide spline serves for the correct installation of the front section of the cardan shaft (indicated by the arrow).



Flexible drive shaft coupling discs



Replacement



1. Disconnect the axle shaft from the transmission or differential flange.

2. Move the shaft to the side and remove the corresponding disc, prying it with a screwdriver if necessary.

3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
