Examination
1. The drive belt must be inspected regularly along its entire length and, if worn or damaged, it must be replaced.
2. Check that the tensioner arm moves freely and does not touch the stop. Replace the belt if it is worn or the tensioner arm touches the stop.
Replacement
2.0L engine
1. Move the tensioner pulley to the side using a wrench on the pulley's center bolt and remove the belt. Lock the tensioner in this position and put on a new belt. Release the tensioner.
2.5 and 3.0 liter engines
2. Remove the air chamber and the front air intake tube.
3. Move the tensioner pulley aside by placing a wrench on the center bolt of the pulley and remove the belt. Put on a new belt and release the tensioner.
