1. Connect one end of the jumper cable to the positive terminal of the booster battery (has a "+" sign on the battery case or on the terminal itself).
2. Connect the other end of this wire to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
3. Connect one end of the other jumper cable to the negative terminal of the booster battery (marked with a "-").
4. Connect the other end of this wire to a ground on another vehicle, such as the engine block or some threaded connection in the engine mount.
