Air bag system (Opel Omega B)

The driver airbag module is fitted as standard equipment on all models. A passenger airbag module and side airbags are optional.

To repair and diagnose these systems, you must contact specialists.

Precautionary measures

If your vehicle is equipped with an airbag, the following precautions must be taken:

• before performing repairs near the airbag, first deactivate the airbag module;
• do not use test equipment with its own power source to test the air bag;
• do not drop the air bag module or expose it to impacts or temperatures above 90°C;
• if you detect a malfunction, contact a specialist immediately.

Airbag deactivation

To deactivate the air bag, disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 1 minute to allow the air bag module capacitors to discharge.

Deactivation of mechanical seat belt tensioners

To lock the seat belt tensioner, insert the locking tool into the provided hole on the tensioner.
