Driver's airbag module

Removal

Models produced before 1996

1. Deactivate the airbag module.

2. Loosen the mounting screws, disconnect the connection connector and remove the module.

Models since 1996

3. Deactivate the airbag module.



4. Remove the mounting screws from the back of the steering wheel.



5. Disconnect the connection connector.



6. Remove the air bag module.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Passenger airbag module

Removal

1. Deactivate the airbag module.

2. Remove the glove compartment.

3. Remove the trim panel from the left end of the instrument panel.

4. Remove the ventilation grilles and trim panel.

5. Remove the lower trim panel.





6. Loosen and remove the casing mounting bolt.



7. Remove the casing.





8. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the module.



9. Disconnect the connection connector and remove the module.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Side airbag module

Removal

It is recommended to contact specialists to perform this operation.

Airbag contact module (on the steering column)

Removal

1. Remove the steering wheel.

2. Remove the steering column covers.



3. Remove the mounting plate and disconnect the connection connector.





4. Release the mounting clamps.



5. Remove the contact module.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. To adjust the module, press the latch on top of the module and rotate the central part of the module counterclockwise until you feel resistance. Then turn it back 2.5 turns and align the installation marks (indicated by arrows).

Electronic control unit

Removal

1. Remove the center console.

2. Disconnect the connection connector, unscrew the fastening nuts and remove the electronic control unit.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Side impact sensor

Removal

1. Remove the front door trim panel.

3. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the sensor.



4. Disconnect the connection connector.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Check that the membrane is securely glued and does not allow air to pass through.
