Steering column — removal and installation (Opel Omega B)

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the trim panel under the instrument panel.



3. Mark the installation position of the steering column shaft in relation to the flexible joint, then loosen the upper pinch bolt (indicated by the arrow).

4. Remove the steering wheel.

5. Remove the steering column covers.

6. Remove the ignition switch and combination switches.

7. Remove the mounting screws and remove the fuse and relay box from the instrument panel.



8. Remove the upper mounting nut (A) and drill out the shear bolt (B).

9. Remove the steering column.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
