Adjusting clearances in the drive mechanism (Opel Kadett E)
The valve drive mechanism uses hydraulic tappets, which provide automatic compensation of valve clearances during operation. Under the action of oil pressure, the tappet ball heads are constantly in contact with the rocker arms, which, in turn, rest on the ends of the valve stems.
