Removing
Remove the air filter see paragraph 4.44.
Unscrew the plug of the expansion tank.
Place a container under the radiator hose. Unscrew the thermostat cover. Collect coolant.
Remove and check thermostat.
Installation
Install thermostat and shroud with new seal.
Fill with coolant and screw on the cap of the expansion tank.
Install the air filter see paragraph 4.44.
Diesel engine
Removing
Unscrew the plug of the expansion tank.
Place a container under the nozzle.
Unscrew the thermostat cover. Drain coolant.
Remove and check thermostat.
Installation
Install thermostat and cover with new seal.
Fill coolant, bleed air from the system and screw the cap on the expansion tank.
ONS engines 1.2-/1.3-l
Removing
Remove the upper coolant hose from the thermostat housing, remove the radiator, drain and collect the flowing coolant.
Remove toothed belt guard. Pull back the cover.
Remove thermostat and check.
Installation
Install thermostat with new seal. In this case, it is necessary to monitor the recess in the cylinder head (arrow).
Screw on the thermostat cover. Install the toothed belt guard and upper radiator hose.
Fill coolant and bleed air.
OHV engine
Removing
Drain and collect coolant see point 3.2.
Thermostat (Temperature regulator) located in the upper neck of the coolant pump.
Shine the coolant hose off the nozzle.
Remove the tension spring with a screwdriver from the round groove.
Take out the thermostat.
Installation
Install the thermostat with a new rubber gasket and secure with a tension spring.
Attention: The arrow on the baffle points up.
Attach the coolant hose.
Fill with coolant.
Examination
To check, the thermostat should be heated in a water bath and at the same time observe whether the regulator opens completely. Initial opening moment of the regulator: 91°C.
Full opening: 103°C.
Thermostat marking: 91°C/195°F.
