Replacement of the tailgate (Opel Insignia A)

Caution: If the bonnet supports are removed, alternative bonnet support must be provided to prevent vehicle damage or personal injury.

1. Remove the inner trim of the luggage compartment door.

2. Disconnect the support posts from the trunk door.

3. If necessary, detach the limiter tape from the trunk lid.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector.

5. Disconnect the wire harness holder.

6. Disconnect the rear window washer hose.

7. Remove the wiring harness bushing, connectors and rear window washer hose from the trunk lid.

8. Use a marker to mark the position of the tailgate hinges relative to the body and unscrew the four bolts (1) of the tailgate hinges.

Note: Tightening torque: 22 Nm.

10. With the help of an assistant, remove the luggage compartment door (2) from the vehicle.

Note: If the tailgate is to be replaced, transfer all necessary components from the old tailgate to the new one.

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

12. After installation, adjust the position of the trunk door.
