Adjusting the tailgate (Opel Insignia A)

1. Loosen the four bolts securing the trunk door hinges to the body.

2. Adjust the position of the trunk door (1) to obtain uniform gaps.

Station wagon:
A. Gap between trunk door and roof: 5mm ±1.5mm.
B. Gap between trunk lid and body panel (top): 5.5mm ±1.5mm.
C. Gap between the trunk lid and the body panel (in the middle part): 5.5 mm ±1.5 mm.
D. Gap between trunk lid and body panel (bottom): 6.0 mm ±1.0 mm.
E. Gap between tailgate and rear bumper trim: 11mm ±2.0mm

Hatchback:
A. Gap between trunk door and roof: 7mm ±1.0mm.
B. Gap between trunk lid and body panel (top): 4.0 mm ±1.0 mm.
C. Gap between trunk lid and body panel (bottom): 4.0 mm ±1.0 mm.
D. Gap between tailgate and rear bumper trim: 3.5mm ±1.0mm

3. Tighten the hinge mounting bolts to 22 Nm.
