Seals — replacement (Opel Omega B)

Cardan shaft flange seal

1. Disconnect the front part of the propeller shaft from the gearbox flange and remove the shock absorber. If necessary, remove the propeller shaft completely.

2. Lock the driven shaft.





3. Twist the nut (drawing on the left) and remove the flange (drawing on the right).

4. Remove the oil seal from the gearbox housing.

5. Inspect the flange for damage and replace if necessary.

6. Clean the seal groove, shaft threads and nuts.

7. Lubricate the new seal with grease and install it in place.

8. Install the propeller shaft flange.

9. Apply sealant N15 10 181 to the nut threads and tighten the nut.

Drive shaft seal

1. Remove the clutch release cylinder.



2. Remove the old seal.

3. Clean the seal groove, lubricate the new seal with grease and install it in place.
