Gear shift lever (Opel Omega B)

Removal

1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle.

2. Remove the retaining rings and remove the shift mechanism protective cover.



3. Remove the retaining ring (indicated by the arrow) and remove the pin securing the shift rod to the base of the gear shift lever.

4. Remove the four bolts securing the gear shift lever to the floor.

5. Remove the gear shift boot.

6. Disconnect the rubber boot from the support plate and remove the gear shift lever assembly.

7. Inspect the lever for damaged parts.

Switch rod

8. Unscrew the nut and remove the bolt (indicated by the arrow), securing the front of the shift rod to the gearbox. Remove the rod.

Installation

1. Lubricate the lever pivot ball and bushings with general purpose grease.



2. Install the control arm assembly into the vehicle, insert and tighten the mounting bolts.

3. Connect the shift rod to the shift lever base, insert the pin and secure it with the retaining ring.

4. Install the lever boots.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
