The catalytic converter is a simple and reliable device and does not require maintenance. However, the catalytic converter gets very hot during operation. Be careful not to burn yourself or cause a fire when parking in dry grass, etc.
If unburned fuel gets into the converter, it can cause it to overheat and fail.
Leaded gasoline must not be used on models equipped with a catalytic converter.
