- injection nozzles are controlled by the controller in pairs through two output stages (in the system "Motronic ML4.1" one output stage controls all four injectors simultaneously);
- the carbon monoxide (CO) content in the exhaust gases is regulated automatically based on information from the oxygen concentration sensor;
- instead of a position-type throttle position sensor, a resistive-type sensor is installed;
- a controller with a higher speed is used, which has a correspondingly different catalog number;
- the self-diagnostic system produces a larger number of error codes.
Checking, adjusting and diagnosing the "Motronic M1.5" system are performed in the same way as for the system "Motronic ML4.1" (see control values in the subsection "Design and technical characteristics"), with the exception of the adjustment of the CO content in the exhaust gases, which is automatically maintained at the required level by the controller commands. If the CO content is increased, check the tightness of the engine air supply system and the serviceability of the spark plugs.
