Setting the initial ignition timing on the "16SV" engine
Disconnect the wires from the ignition timing coding connector.
Connect the stroboscope according to the operating instructions.
Start the engine and let it idle. Point the flashing light of the strobe light at the crankshaft pulley. If the initial ignition timing is set correctly, the mark on the pulley should be opposite the installation lug on the cylinder block. To set the initial ignition timing, loosen the distributor mounting bolts and turn it to the required angle.
Tighten the distributor mounting bolts and check the initial ignition timing again.
Connect the wires to the initial ignition timing coding block.

O - Electronic ignition control unit;
E - vacuum sensor;
F - octane number regulator;
G — oil temperature sensor;
H — initial ignition timing angle coding block.
Wire color designation:
BL — blue;
HBL - blue;
BR - brown;
GE - yellow;
GR - grey;
GN - green;
U — purple;
RT - red;
WS — white;
VI - purple.
The first two letters indicate the color of the wire itself, the second two - the color of the stripe on the wire. The numbers in the break of the wire route indicate its cross-section in mm².
