Removal



Raise the front of the car, place it on stands and remove the front wheel.

Remove the front wheel brake caliper and hang it on a technical hook to the body without disconnecting the brake hose.

Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the hub nut.

Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the nut of the ball joint pin of the steering rod and press the pin out of the steering arm of the suspension strut using a universal puller.

Similarly, separate the ball joint pin of the suspension arm from the steering knuckle.

Remove the wheel drive shaft from the hub manually. If removal is difficult, use a puller.

Loosen the nuts securing the upper support of the telescopic strut and remove the strut.

Install the strut into the spring compressor and compress the suspension spring.

Remove the upper support of the suspension strut together with the ball bearing by unscrewing the nut on the strut rod with a double-ended "19" wrench, while holding the strut rod from turning.

Installation



Lubricate the upper strut mount ball bearing with bearing grease.

Note: Do not remove the ball bearing from the upper strut mount. These parts are supplied as a complete assembly as spare parts.


Place the upper support on the strut rod. Install the flat washer "A" (see picture) under the bearing with the flange facing up, and the flat washer "B" on the bearing.

Install and tighten the new strut rod self-locking nut while holding the rod from turning.

Release the suspension spring.

Install the suspension strut onto the vehicle and tighten the mounting bolts to the upper support.

Lubricate the hub splines with gearbox oil and insert the splined shank of the outer joint of the front wheel shaft into them.

Connect the shock absorber strut to the lower suspension arm, then attach the steering rod to it.

Install the brake caliper. Screw on a new hub nut with a new washer and adjust the wheel hub bearing clearance.
