Design and technical characteristics (Opel Kadett E)

The vehicles are equipped with a hydraulic brake drive consisting of two independent circuits divided diagonally. The front brakes are disc brakes, the rear ones are drum brakes (disc brakes on vehicles with the 20XE engine). The hydraulic drive includes a master brake cylinder with two coaxial pistons, a vacuum booster, left rear and right front brake pressure regulators on vehicles with hatchback and sedan bodies, and a rear brake pressure regulator on station wagons and vans. Depending on the modification, vehicles with the 20XE engine are equipped with an anti-lock braking system as standard or on request.
