Checking the condition of the friction linings (Opel Kadett D)

            0

To accurately control the thickness of the friction linings, they must be removed.

Remove the brake pads.

With the thickness of the overlay (including metal plate) 7 mm. The pads have exhausted their service life and are subject to replacement.

In practice, 1 mm of lining thickness corresponds to 1000 km of mileage under unfavorable conditions. Under normal conditions, they are much longer. Thus, with a thickness of 9 mm (including back plate) the service life of the lining is at least 2000 km.

Install the brake pads.
