General description of the car body

The body of the OPEL KADETT D is load-bearing. The floors, roof, side sections and rear wings are welded together. Therefore, major damage to the body can only be repaired in a specialized workshop. The engine hood and trunk lid, doors and front wings are screwed on and can be easily replaced. In the OPEL KADETT D with 1.6-/1.8-liter engines, there are ventilation openings in the lower front spoiler, which are covered with plastic plugs. These plugs must be removed if you are driving with a trailer. If you are using the car without a trailer, we recommend reinstalling these plugs. Open plugs will increase air resistance.
