During the operation of the car, with sudden changes in the temperature of the outside air, moisture condenses in the internal cavities of the body and doors. In addition, when washing the car and in the rain, water can penetrate into these cavities. Water accumulated in the cavities causes corrosion of body panels and doors.
To remove water, drainage holes are made in the lower edges of the side doors and in the thresholds. Drainage holes get clogged with road dirt over time, so periodically (preferably at every car wash) clean these holes with a thin wooden stick or screwdriver.
Three drainage holes are also made in the lower edge of the tailgate.
They should also be cleaned periodically, similar to the holes in the side doors.
