Attention! The negative ground electrical system has an operating voltage of 12 volts. Power for the electrical system comes from a lead-acid battery that is recharged by a generator.
In this Chapter operations of repair and service of various elements of electric equipment of the car which are not connected with the engine are described.
It should be noted that when working with any element of the electrical equipment of the car, the wire of the negative terminal of the battery must be disconnected to prevent a short circuit and / or fire.
At regular intervals, check the location and fastening of the wires, make sure that the wires do not rub against other elements. If you find that any of the wires are rubbing against other elements, move the wires to the side and secure them so that this does not happen again.
The electrical equipment is designed to be powered by a positive pole of 12 V batteries, the negative pole is connected to ground. When working on any piece of electrical equipment, disconnect the battery from the ground. On some cars, this should be done after making sure that you know the code for decoding the radio.
Precautions: If your vehicle's radio/stereo has an anti-theft coding system, read the information at the beginning of this manual before disconnecting the battery.
