Steering - safety, with adjustable steering column, rack and pinion steering and hydraulic booster.
The steering consists of a steering wheel, a steering column, a steering mechanism, two steering rods connected by ball joints to the steering knuckles, pipelines and a pump.
The rotation of the steering wheel through the steering column shafts is transmitted to the steering gear, which shifts the steering rack, which turns the front wheels of the car through the steering rods.
Electric power steering pump. It creates pressure of the working fluid, which reduces the effort that must be applied by the driver to turn the wheels. The booster pump is mounted directly on the steering gear and has a built-in hydraulic fluid reservoir. Thus, the power steering mechanism is a single unit. TRW or Delphi steering gears can be installed. This chapter shows the operation using the TRW steering gear as the most common one. Operations on vehicles with Delphi steering gear are generally similar, but still have minor differences.
