Engine oil and filter
Changing the oil and oil filter regularly is one of the most important steps to extend the life of your vehicle.
Replacement
1. Warm up the engine. Remove the filler cap. Loosen the drain plug about half a turn. Install the oil collection container and unscrew the plug completely.
2. Wait for the oil to drain, moving the container forward if necessary.
3. Wipe off the plug and replace the sealing washer if necessary. Wipe the area around the drain hole and tighten the plug to the correct torque.
4. Install an oil collecting container under the oil filter.
5. Using an oil filter removal tool, if necessary, loosen the filter and unscrew it by hand (The illustration shows the location of the oil filter on a 2.0L engine).
6. Clean the filter installation site. Lubricate the O-ring of the new filter with oil and install it on the engine. Screw the filter securely by hand.
7. Unscrew the filler cap and fill in the correct type of oil.
8. Start the engine and check for oil leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
